Welcome to DiscoverUnsigned.com! Our aim is to be THE website for unsigned bands and music lovers everywhere. Before I tell you about some of the great features of the site, I wanted to share some of the problems that we see with the current options available to bands/fans. Sites that target unsigned bands currently (think Myspace.com) may be huge, but they aren’t all that effective. For one thing, even great bands can receive hardly any plays, and next to no exposure. The reasons for this are simple:
Firstly, there are too many crap bands spamming Myspace that the awesome bands don’t stand a chance of getting seen by anyone.
Secondly, the bands are the ones who have to put in all the work. Many bands sound great, but they aren’t that experienced with promotion.
Discover Unsigned solves both of these problems! We only promote great bands, meaning that these bands get more exposure, more fans, and ultimately more success. This isn’t to say that we’re music facists who love turning bands down. We just feel that given the huge problems out there for bands to get heard, it’s worth helping out those who are truly talented.
There’s no spending hours creating a profile that nobody is going to see. We handle all the promotion for you, for FREE! If we like your band then not only will we promote your via the site, but we’ll try to get to know you and plug your albums, gigs, and perhaps even interview you personally!
But this site isn’t just for unsigned bands! It’s for people passionate about discovering the best new music. As music lovers we know the buzz of discovering a great band before anyone else. We also know how hard this can be at times, given the previously mentioned problems. Because we only promote the BEST unsigned bands, you can be sure that you’ll be discovering great bands every single day!
Now… the cool part: the content!
Not only will we be plugging bands/gigs for you to check out, but we’ll be getting live backstage footage with some great bands. We’ll also be interviewing some big names in the unsigned music scene. However, perhaps coolest of all - we’ll actually be releasing our own albums!
We figured that if getting heard was hard for bands, then getting paid was even harder! That’s why every single month we’ll be releasing a Discover Unsigned album, complete with 10 tracks from various bands! All of the bands will not only get the huge promotion of being on an album, but will receive generous royalties for each sale! Best of all it costs you absolutely nothing!
