The Albums…

Category: Site Announcements

Hey guys. Recently We’ve decided to take the album feature off the site for a while. The main reason being, the billing system wasn’t going to plan and it would have caused a lot of problems for us and the people buying the album. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Discover Unsigned June Album

Category: Site Announcements

Some of you may remember us mentioning our upcoming debut unsigned album, a compilation album showcasing 10 of the best tracks by some of the greatest unsigned talent worldwide. The album launch was June 1st, but unfortunately launching the album has been delayed a couple of days due to hold-ups with our billing system and development work.

Admittedly some of the delay is our fault (and some is outside of our control), as we are relaunching DiscoverUnsigned.com completely to coincide with the debut album’s launch. Check back soon to witness our new look and best of all amazing new content! The good news is that we’ve had the album playing in the background pretty much non-stop during all this development, and we’re still loving how it sounds!

I figure that I can’t leave you hanging quite that much, and so here is a preview of the album cover:

We hope that you will check back soon to witness the album’s launch, and assure you that it will be worth the wait!

Discover Unsigned Update

Category: Site Announcements

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to post an update about the site incase anyone thought it had fizzled out. Unfortunately both myself and Matt have been snowed under with work for our final exams, meaning that blog updates can’t take priority.

However, we have been working hard behind the scenes to get the June debut unsigned album ready for launch! The album is sounding really great and I’ve decided to redesign the website to coincide with the album launch. The fresh DiscoverUnsigned will be a lot cleaner and easier to navigate, and will center more around our albums, which we predict will be big news. Of course we’ll still be posting updates about great unsigned bands, interviews, and I’ll be getting my video camera out over the break to hopefully get some backstage footage.

Please keep checking back to see the album/website launch and if you haven’t already join our Facebook group to receive further updates.

Thanks for sticking around we promise that the site will be really taking off in the coming weeks/month!

Discover Unsigned Debut Album!

Category: Site Announcements

Ok guys, the time has come to reveal a little more about our debut ‘Unsigned Album’. Some of you may remember us mentioning this in our first post, and many of you may have seen the ‘coming soon’ notice on our Albums Page. We’ve been working really hard to get an awesome album together for you, despite not talking about it a whole lot. We’ve worked behind the scenes with a lot of great bands to secure some truly great tracks.

The idea behind the albums is to reward unsigned talent with massive exposure and generous royalties. The albums will be downloadable format only to start with, as this takes away any production costs for us, and means bigger royalties for our artists. Each album will be sold for $6, and will consist of 10 tracks by 10 different unsigned artists. Each artist will receive $0.50 per sale for just ONE track! The remaining $1 will go to me and Matt (the other co-founder), and we’ll be pouring these dollars into promoting the album. What’s great for artists is that the albums will be sold indefinitely, so they will receive royalties at the end of EVERY month!

We’ve already received a lot of interest from people wanting to buy the albums, so we anticipate them being a big hit within the music community. The debut album should, with any luck, be released June 1st, and all subsequent monthly albums released at the 1st of each month. This means that if you don’t make it on to our debut June album, you can apply for any future albums no problem.

We’ve nearly finished compiling our debut album, but IT’S NOT TOO LATE for bands to apply! We’re still happy to review applications for truly great unsigned tracks. If you’re interested in watching your monthly sales build up, and a whole new audience listening to your music then please apply here today!

I can personally say that I must have listened to the album almost 100 times (it’s becoming a little obsessive), and it’s not getting old. It’s really a cross-section of the best unsigned talent, encompassing many genres, and drawing artists from all over the world!

If you have any questions please drop us a comment and I’d be happy to provide any further info. Apart from that I hope that you’ll continue coming back to check out the latest/greatest unsigned bands, and check back at the start of June to witness our album launch!

Discover Unsigned Launches!

Welcome to DiscoverUnsigned.com! We aim to be THE website for promoting and discovering unsigned bands!

Discover Unsigned is a website thought up by two music lovers (Matt and Tom) who were sick of the way that things are currently heading for unsigned bands and the fans interested in discovering them. We’ve been down the Myspace road, and know many bands that have failed to bring any real attention to themselves through this medium. What’s frustrating is the HUGE amount of unsigned talent out there that simply isn’t getting the attention that it deserves. We explain this struggle for exposure in more detail on our about page, but the short version is that nobody seems to care about promoting unsigned talent, and that this talent is being hidden by all the CRAP out there. Our aim is to only promote the very best unsigned talent, on a daily basis. We’re going to be plugging gigs, doing interviews, making videos, and even releasing a monthly album that YOU can be a part of!

It’s going to be pretty crazy, but we’re really excited about promoting all these great bands, meeting new artists and expanding fan-bases! Be sure to check back soon for some amazing unsigned talent, and in the meantime why not suggest an unsigned band that you’re a fan of?
